Another country was interested in the Russian vaccine for the Sputnik V coronavirus, and Mexico wanted to join the drug trials. This was stated by the head of the Mexican foreign Ministry, Marcelo Ebrard, during a meeting with Russian Ambassador Viktor coronelli, RIA Novosti reports.
During the meeting, he said that Mexico is interested in conducting the third phase of clinical trials in order to get the Russian vaccine in the country as soon as possible.
The Mexican foreign Ministry said that the third phase of the three-month trial of the vaccine, which now involves 40,000 people, will be crucial for determining its effectiveness, registration and commercialization.
Ebrard also said that the country’s government views COVID-19 vaccines and medicines as a public domain that everyone should have access to.
Earlier, the Russian vaccine was interested in the Vietnamese authorities, who reported their readiness to buy the drug. The Republika Srpska, a constituent part of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), also wanted to purchase a Russian coronavirus vaccine. Its authorities intend to buy 1 million copies of Sputnik V.
