China evaluated the Russian coronavirus vaccine

China’s leading epidemiologist, Zhong Nanshan, praised the Russian coronavirus vaccine developed by the N. F. Gamalei National research center for epidemiology and Microbiology. On Thursday, August 20, the Russian Embassy in Beijing said in a statement.

The academician also congratulated Russia on the completed registration of the drug. He noted that the drug is safe to use and Chinese scientists are actively interacting with Russian colleagues on issues related to the development of a new coronavirus vaccine.

Earlier, it became known that Mexico wanted to join the third phase of testing of Sputnik V. In addition, the authorities of Vietnam are interested in the Russian vaccine, who have declared their readiness to purchase the drug. The Republika Srpska, a constituent part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, also wanted to buy a Russian coronavirus vaccine. Its authorities intend to buy one million copies of Sputnik V.

The official website of the first registered coronavirus vaccine has been launched in Russia. The portal contains all the information and main news about Russian development. The site is available in seven languages.

On August 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the registration of the first Russian coronavirus vaccine. It will be available to citizens from January 2021. According to Putin, vaccination will be carried out only on a voluntary basis.
